Wright Brothers Memorial – The birthplace of flight.
Humans first successfully achieved flight at the Outer Banks.  Any visit to the Outer Banks deserves a visit to this site.

Moving the Hatteras Lighthouse
The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is one of the most iconic symbols of the Outer Banks. In 1999 it was moved to prevent it from being washed into the ocean.  This has been considered one of the most impressive building moves in history.

The Hatteras National Seashore
The Hatteras National Seashore, run by the US Parks Service, is a national treasure dedicated to preservation of local wildlife

Surf Rider Foundation
Surf Rider is a surf zone conservation charity that champions access issues, pollution, and more.  Many of their members are board surfers.  They tackle issues in the Outer Banks and nation wide.
